Hortus Eden was founded on a belief shaped by lived experience: that lasting results come from understanding work from the ground up and treating service as a responsibility, not a transaction.

Before founding Hortus Eden, Paul Chishala began his career as a casual worker. Working across different levels of responsibility over time — from hands-on fieldwork to senior management — he gained a clear understanding of what happens when service breaks down, and what becomes possible when people are properly supported, guided, and respected.

That journey revealed something fundamental: service is not only about the client. It depends on the people doing the work and the environment in which that work takes place. When those three are aligned, outcomes improve — consistently and sustainably.
